Why the F-17

Racing technology, engineered in Japan

Aerodynamics, protection and comfort from Kabuto's racing helmet, in the details that matter at speed.

Explore our technology
  1. Aerodynamics

    Wake Stabilizer

Developed from wind tunnel tests at several angles, Kabuto's patented system controls the airflow around the helmet and reduces loads while riding.

  2. Aerodynamics

    Crest Spoiler

A patent-pending spoiler on the crest that suppresses the force that lifts the helmet.

  3. Construction

    A.C.T.-2 composite shell

A lightweight composite shell engineered for strength and low weight, so it stays comfortable on long rides.

  4. Protection

    Mips® Safety System

Designed to help reduce rotational forces in angled impacts. The F-17 was the first MotoGP™ helmet equipped with Mips®.

  5. Safety

    Kabuto Emergency System

By pulling out the sponge inside the cheek pad, a rescuer can remove the helmet smoothly after an accident.

  6. Comfort

    COOLMAX® interior

A fully detachable interior in COOLMAX® fabric with DEOFACTOR® antibacterial treatment, made to move sweat away and stay fresh.

Get the fit right

Find your size, then try it on

A racing helmet should fit snug and even. Measure your head, check the table, or try an F-17 on at a dealer near you.

Your size

Kabuto helmet sizes by head circumference

XS 54–55 21.3–21.7
S 55–56 21.7–22.0
M 57–58 22.4–22.8
L 56–60 22.0–23.6
XL 61–62 24.0–24.4

Fit tips

  1. Measure your head. Keep the tape level around the crown of your head.
  2. Head shape changes fit. Every Kabuto helmet sold in the U.S. is made for an intermediate oval head shape, and each model has its own fit and feel.
  3. Too loose? If the helmet rotates easily, or can be rolled off your head with the chin strap fastened, try a smaller size.
  4. Check pressure points. Even pressure all round is normal; pressure focused in one spot is not. Common hot spots: forehead, temples, jaw, back of head.

This chart recommends a size from head circumference. The right helmet also depends on head shape, helmet design, your motorcycle, riding style and any accessories fitted.
