Inside the F-17 GP Mips®

  1. A patented spoiler on the crown disturbs the airflow over the upper part of the helmet, suppressing the force that tries to lift it at speed.

  2. Kabuto's patented aero device controls the airflow around the shell to reduce the load on your neck. Refined for the F-17 in the wind tunnel, it improves stability.

  3. Kabuto's own air system: fresh air comes in at the top, and a rectifying effect draws hot air trapped inside the helmet out through the rear.

  4. The next evolution of Kabuto's Advanced Composite Technology. A ribbed, aero-shaped shell of high-strength composite layers with excellent penetration resistance and shock absorption.

  5. The Center Lock / Double Axis system uses a two-axis DAF-R ratchet for a tight seal, locks in the centre so it's easy to work with gloves, and lets you swap the DAF-1R shield quickly. Tear-off posts are built in.

  6. A DAF Pinlock® insert is included with every F-17 GP Mips®. It forms a double-glazed seal inside the shield to keep your view fog-free.

  7. A low-friction layer lets the helmet move slightly relative to your head in an angled impact, to reduce the rotational motion transferred to the brain.

  8. A patented quick-release interior: the cheek pads' urethane pulls out while the fabric against the rider's cheek stays in place, so the helmet can be removed more safely after a crash.

    Wake Stabilizer

    Kabuto's patented system controls the airflow around the helmet while riding and decreases the load. Wind tunnel research and development lets us keep refining it, because aerodynamics and air management play an ever bigger part in how a helmet works and how safe it is.

    Advanced Composite Technology

    Kabuto's original A.C.T. shell combines hyper glass fiber with high-tensile and high-modulus organic fiber. For each model and each regulation, Kabuto develops the optimal combination of layers and resin, for light weight and enhanced strength.

    Top Aero Ventilation Structure

    Kabuto's original air-conditioning system. Outside air flows in through the head vents and over the liner, and a rectifying effect releases the hot air trapped inside the helmet through the rear ventilation.
