Fit tips

  1. Measure your head. Keep the tape level around the crown of your head.
  2. Head shape changes fit. Every Kabuto helmet sold in the U.S. is made for an intermediate oval head shape, and each model has its own fit and feel.
  3. Too loose? If the helmet rotates easily, or can be rolled off your head with the chin strap fastened, try a smaller size.
  4. Check pressure points. Even pressure all round is normal; pressure focused in one spot is not. Common hot spots: forehead, temples, jaw, back of head.

This chart recommends a size from head circumference. The right helmet also depends on head shape, helmet design, your motorcycle, riding style and any accessories fitted.

Aerodynamics

Wake StabilizerPAT.

Developed from wind tunnel tests at several angles, the Wake Stabilizer is built into the shell. It controls the airflow around the helmet and reduces the load on you while riding.

Patent No. 4311691

Comfort

COOLMAX® interior

The inside of your Kabuto is lined with COOLMAX® fabric, built to move sweat away from your skin so it dries fast and stays comfortable.

The fiber

COOLMAX® is a polyester fiber. Its performance comes from the shape of the fiber, not from a coating.

Round fiber compared with a COOLMAX fiber A round fiber holds sweat on its surface. A COOLMAX fiber has grooves along its surface that carry sweat away from the skin to the outside of the fabric, where it spreads and evaporates faster. Round fiber Sweat stays on the surface COOLMAX® fiber Grooves carry sweat outward

Grooves that move sweat

A standard round fiber holds on to sweat. A COOLMAX® fiber has tiny grooves along its surface. They carry sweat away from your skin toward the outer surface of the fabric, where it spreads over a larger area and evaporates faster.

In your helmet

What Kabuto says about the COOLMAX® interior in its instruction manuals.

Moves moisture out

When you sweat, COOLMAX® discharges the moisture to the outside.

Brings air in

It takes in air from the outside to cool and dry your body.

Lowers skin temperature

The temperature on the body surface drops, and the fabric keeps moisture in balance as you ride.

Built into the fiber

Because the effect comes from the fiber's structure, COOLMAX® says its benefits do not wash out.
